Pumpkin Decorating Fun at Applecross

Halloween brought out the creativity and festive spirit at Applecross Nursing Home as our residents and staff joined together for a fun-filled pumpkin decorating and carving session. With an array of pumpkins, paints, and carving tools at the ready, the day was packed with laughter, creativity, and a touch of spooky magic.

Residents showcased their artistic talents, transforming pumpkins into unique masterpieces. From traditional jack-o’-lantern faces to intricately painted designs, the variety was truly impressive. Staff were on hand to assist, offering ideas and guidance while joining in on the fun themselves. The room buzzed with excitement as everyone admired each other’s creations and shared stories about past Halloweens.

One resident remarked, “I haven’t carved a pumpkin in years, and this brought back such lovely memories!” Another added, “Seeing everyone’s designs was my favorite part—we have some real artists here!”

The decorated pumpkins were displayed throughout the home, adding a festive Halloween touch to our communal spaces. They were a wonderful conversation starter for visitors and a source of pride for the residents who contributed to the decorations.

At Applecross, events like this are more than just activities—they’re an opportunity to connect, share joy, and create lasting memories. We’re already looking forward to next year’s pumpkin decorating day and can’t wait to see the spooky and creative designs our residents come up with next!
